Model Details Original 3D models of NSW 4-wheel vans - by Brian Bere-Streeter These new wagons came about, because of a need to create authentic train formations for use on the Microsoft Train Simulator route - 'Coals to Newcastle' - by Peter Newell. New models were created for: NSWGR – LV – Louvre Van – 165 in service 1970 NSWGR – CV – Covered Van – 34 in service 1970 NSWGR – ABV – Arnott’s Biscuit Van – 55 in service 1970 NSWGR – ICV – Insulated Covered Van NSWGR – ICV – Insulated Covered Van – F.J. Walker livery NSWGR – SRC – Short Refrigerator Van – 1 in service 1970 NSWGR – HG – Brake Van – 2 in service 1970 (these vans were often used as Departmental vans for internal service) Empty and loaded versions have been created for all the vans except for the HG which only has a loaded version. SPECIAL NOTE: All 4-wheel wagons were limited to a maximum service speed of 40 mph. Having spent some considerable time repainting others models, this is another venture into building new rolling stock from scratch. They may not be the most detailed or totally accurate, but in the absence of other better models, I hope you enjoy running them on your NSW routes in MSTS – at least it gives a bit more variety and authenticity to your train workings. These models are for your personal use only, and may not be sold or distributed in any way without the original creator's permissions. =========================================== 2. Installation Notes Create a new folder called << AU_nsw4wVans >> Unzip the files into a temporary folder, then copy and paste all of the files straight into the new << AU_nsw4wVans folder >> (check the name to be sure). You will need to create either a new consist to use these wagons, or add them to an existing consist. Consists are made, or edited, using MSTS Activity Editor or Carlos Gomes’s ConBuilder. =========================================== 3. Historical Notes Prototype information for these models has been researched from the following sources: " Day of the Goods Train" , Preston, Eveleigh Press, 2002 “Railway Freight Wagons of New South Wales”, Beckhaus, SCR Publications, 1970 =========================================== 4.
