Model Details Original 3D model of C32 class locomotive - by Gavin Woolf - Email: ausgav15@hotmail.com Additional textures by Paul Gausden – Email: decapod@highworth.freeuk.com Repaints, add-ons, upgrades and additional locos - by Brian Bere-Streeter Gavin Woolf originally created an excellent set of three C32 class 4-6-0 locomotives. Thank you Gavin (and to Paul) - for allowing me to repaint your models for more variety for NSWGR enthusiasts. These new locos came about, because of a need to create authentic train formations for use on the Microsoft Train Simulator route - 'Coals to Newcastle' - by Peter Newell. To allow the creation of authentic train formations the following locos were added: - 3224 – plain Black livery - 3333 – plain Black livery - 3280 – Black livery with red footplate valancing (ie tour livery) - 3246 – Black livery with full red lining – NO crest - 3265 – Black livery with full red lining – NSWGR crest - 3277 – Maroon livery with full red lining – NSWGR crest 3246 performed the last scheduled steam passenger services between Newcastle and Singleton on July 24th 1971 – the locomotive is depicted in its final livery as at this time. During the early 1930s several locomotives used on the Main North to Newcastle were painted in maroon livery, and also several locomotives were named - i.e. Hunter, Hawkesbury, Wyong and Parramatta. At a later time several other locomotives used on the Main North Coast line to Brisbane, were also named – i.e. Queenslander, Yeerongpilly and Beaudesert. Other locomotives were also painted in special liveries and named for the Main West line and the Illawarra line, but are not included amongst these models (the original 3300 Carillon City included in the original Class C32 pack by Gavin, was based on a locomotive named after a memorial in the City of Bathurst). Names were removed from the locomotives during 1938, mainly because it was found difficult to keep the locomotives in the area that they were named after. I have not been able to find the date when the maroon and green locomotives were repainted back into black livery, but it appears to be by the early 1950s. The locomotive 3277 has been confirmed as being named Hawkesbury, but I have not been able to confirm if it was one of the maroon painted ones – for the purposes of this Train Simulator model I have assumed the maroon livery for this locomotive. The liveries for these locomotives were taken from contemporary photographs from the 1950’s and 1960’s era. Some slight livery imperfections are apparent in some of these models due to the way the original texture files were mapped to the original shape files. These models are for your personal use only, and may not be sold or distributed in any way without the original creator's and re-painter's permissions. =========================================== 2. Installation Notes Double click on the self installing EXE file and follow the instructions. The models will be automatically installed into a folder called << AU_nswC32 >> You will need to create either a new consist to use these locomotives, or add them to an existing consist. Consists are made, or edited, using MSTS Activity Editor or Carlos Gomes’s ConBuilder. Consists have been included for each locomotive only as a Light Engine, just to get you started. Visit http://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim for a tutorial in creating a consist. =========================================== 3.
