Installation Notes Double click on the self installing EXE file and follow the instructions. The models will be automatically installed into a folder called << AU_SOUTHERN_AURORA >> You will need to create either a new consist to use these vans, or add them to an existing consist. Consists are made, or edited, using MSTS Activity Editor or Carlos Gomes’s ConBuilder. Note: You will need to install the sounds Victorian Railways Passenger Sounds, available from the Steam4me website, as the wag files are set to look for them. =========================================== 3. Historical Notes In 1956 a contract was let with Commonwealth Engineering for the construction of a 10 sleeping carriages (5 x LANs & 5 x NAMs). When delivered in 1960-61 they were used on the Brisbane Limited Express in conjunction with RUB set cars. A typical consist was: MHO, LAN, LAN, NAM, NAM, SBS, SBS, RS, OFS, SFS, SFS, PHS With the construction of the standard gauge between Sydney and Melbourne in 1962, it was determined that new carriages were required and a contract was let with Commonwealth Engineering for the construction of more carriages. In all 34 carriages were built (as follows) to form two train sets: 9 x NAM – twinette sleeping cars 2 x DAM - de-luxe twinette sleepers 3 x RM (RMS) – dining cars 3 x BC (BCS) – lounge cars 11 x LAN – roomette sleeping cars 3 x PHN – power/brakevans 3 x MHN – luggage brakevans A typical early composition was (from Melbourne end) – PHN, LAN, NAM, LAN, NAM, LAN, BCS, RMS, DAM, LAN, NAM, LAN, NAM, MHN. =========================================== 4.
